HIGH EXPECTATIONS - NO EXCUSES
Welcome to Stretford High School. 2010
When I look at how well the young people at Stretford High School are doing, I am very proud. They are doing far better than were students of 5/6 years ago and it is not because the exams have got easier: if anything they are harder than 5 or 6 years ago.
The attainment of our students in Year 11 2009 beat all previous records with a 19% increase in 5A*-C including English and Maths (50%), 74% of students got 5A*-C, 100% of students left with a qualification, SSAT named our school as “The most improved in the North West 2007-2010” and when Ofsted Inspectors judged our school in 2008 we were “Outstanding”. We are now excited about helping the classes of 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 to realise their potential.
Stretford High School serves the North side of the borough of Trafford. The school is non selective and provides an enriching educational experience for children between the ages of 11 and 16 years. We offer a wide range of personalised courses through a highly structured, inclusive, innovative approach to learning, leading to qualifications at all levels; to recognise the talent and potential of all our students.
Our values are based on having respect for all, by all. We strive to ensure that this underpins everything we do at the school.
We aim to create a safe learning environment with high expectations and a love of learning, where young people are supported to achieve through;
· Strong family values,
· an amazing team of dedicated professionals
· the devlopment of excellent learning habits,
· the notion that hard work rather than ability equals success
· where no child is left behind.
Young people have a wonderful opportunity to learn how to shine at Stretford High. We are considered to be a very caring school and relationships are seen to be very strong between young people and teachers. Above all, we want to see our students grow into independent life long learners of the future, by Learning the Stretford Way
The school is currently awaiting a Government decision that will potentially see the opening of a new Academy on the Stretford High School site. Please check the school wesbite, Trafford LA website and local press to follow progress of this decision.
